Welcome
Eclectic vehicle
Thank you for visiting MediaX, a new online destination which will develop and expand to include an eclectic mix of interesting content. It follows on from several decades of Creative Arts subjects in DG magazines and books, but it won’t be limited to what went before. After all, the world is an interesting place. I would be interested to have your comments along the way. Feedback is welcome.
To get the ball rolling we have raided the Design Graphics magazine archives to display all of the magazine covers going back to 1993. In future, these images will be available as framed prints, and the print section will expand to include many other interesting subjects.

Check this box. MediaX is an eclectic collection of interesting things with design and creativity at its core. The content may be from the natural world or from the built environment. As George Harrison sang; ‘within you and without you’. In its simplest form, the process of design is the act of thinking. Our thoughts are pictures of the mind; some moving, some still. Life unfolds in interesting ways. Good design arises from clear and positive thinking, something we have showcased over many years in our magazines and books. Creative Arts Education has been a focus through our ADERG project.
Design World
A brief history of Design World magazine
For twelve years Design World magazine was a prominent destination for a wide range of subjects in an exposition of international design. It started out in 1983 as a showcase for industrial, graphic and interior design, quickly broadening to include a wider range of creative arts.
It was particularly successful in Australia and the USA, but was available in many other countries. Through subscription, bookstore and other retail outlets, it gained a loyal following.
As usual with every medium, there was a lot of activity behind the scenes to bring it to market.

WHAT & WHERE TO STUDY
While we no longer publish an annual printed book for the Art & Design Education Resource Guide (ADERG), some essential references have been moved over to MediaX.
Creative Arts are the heart and soul of a society. You can design a theatre, a stage, a set, and add actors, costumes, make-up, musicians, storylines and soundtracks. Then design the marketing, the posters, the social media … places to live, to entertain, fashion and textiles to express your personality. Creative Arts are more than just a job; they are a calling, a profession, a way of creating places, objects, stories and themes by which we lead our lives.
